But the fire ring is so much more than a heat source for grilled food.
Andreas Reichlin from Immense in Switzerland designed this fire bowl in 2009. Here, indirect grilling is done on the round metal surface. Completely different heat ranges ensure the right temperature for vegetables, fish, mussels or meat and much more. Some also get subtle smoky notes from the fire. Since the autumn of 2018 I am proud of it and also a bit in awe.
The first year I was quite retisent in trying out the grill surface. Then, suddenly, all shyness about the fire ring was gone. I grilled what the season offered me. First in private with friends, then in the summer of 2020 also a few times for my guests.
In the meantime it has become My Fire Ring. This can also be seen in the patina. The fire ring has become a magical place in the garden.
A power place, in my opinion. Its aesthetics (Red Dot Award) take the attraction to fire to a new level for me. This powerful, sculptural design is second to none.
